Brewmaster for a Day

How to Enter: No purchase is necessary to enter. The Brewmaster for a Day contest (the "Contest") commences June 1, 2009 and is open to residents of Canada (the "Contest Area"), excluding Quebec, who have reached the age of 19 as of June 1, 2009. Excluding, employees of Moosehead Breweries Limited (the "Sponsor"), their advertising and promotional agencies (including the independent contest organization), employees/owners of bottle redemption centers, and members of their respective immediate families living in the same household, employees or members of the immediate families of or domiciled with an employee of the applicable Liquor Commission(s) and or Board(s), and authorized retail vendors or licensees of Moosehead Breweries Limited beer.

Contest Close: All entries must be completed and submitted by 11:59pm AST (Atlantic Standard Time) March 31, 2010.

Prizes: There are five (5) Brew Master for a Day prizes (the "Prize") available to be won. One (1) prize will be awarded in each of the brand categories: Alpine Lager, Moose Light, Moosehead Lager, Moosehead Premium Dry, and Moosehead Pale Ale. Anyone not selecting one of the five (5) brand categories, as outlined above, as one of their brand preferences will be assigned one of the five (5) brand categories at random for the purposes of the Prize drawing.

Each Prize consists of an invitation for the winner and one (1) guest to Moosehead's Saint John New Brunswick Brewery to be the Brew Master for a Day (the "Event") at a date to be determined but not later than August 30, 2010.

The Prize for each brand will consist of $300 spending money, two night's standard hotel accommodation, brewery visit, transportation between hotel and brewery, and round trip economy airfare for two from the nearest domestic airport (within the Contest Area), to Saint John, NB, if the winner resides outside of the Maritimes.

Any costs or expenses associated with the Prize not outlined as included above, including but not limited to taxes, travel and/or medical insurance, airport improvement fees, drinks, meals, gratuities and all incidental and personal expenses are the sole responsibility of the winner and his/her guest. Winner will be required to use a credit card at hotel check-in to cover any and all incidentals not specified as included in the Prize. Winners and guests will be required to follow all directions of Sponsor and/or the Event organizers; failure to do so may result in termination of their participation, or continued participation, in the Prize and/or Event. Minimum value of each Prize is $1500 CAD. Actual value of Prize will depend on location of winner's residence. Winner is not entitled to any monetary difference between the actual and stated value, if any. The Prize may not be substituted for cash.

Both winner and guest must be 19 years of age or older to be eligible for the Prize. Limit of one (1) contest entry per eligible entrant per brand category.

Drawing: On or before April 30, 2010 a random drawing will be conducted, in Saint John, New Brunswick, at 9:00am AST from the total eligible entries received. The selected entrants will be notified by email or telephone. Before being declared a winner, a selected entrant must first correctly answer without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited, mathematical, skill-testing question to be administered by email or phone and will be required to sign a standard declaration and release form confirming compliance with the contest rules and acceptance of the prize as awarded. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted and the skill-testing question administered within three (3) business days, the Prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate entrant. Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received in each category.

Additional Contest Information: By entering the Contest, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, its parent, affiliates or subsidiaries, its advertising, promotional agencies, and independent contest judging organization and their directors, officers, employees and agents from any claim, loss, expense or other liability, including liability for personal injury, arising from participation in the contest or the awarding, acceptance or use of any prize.

In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address provided. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider. A selected entrant may be required to provide the Sponsor with proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry.

All entries become the property of the Sponsor and no contest correspondence will be entered into except with selected entrants who will be notified by email or telephone. By entering the Contest, entrants consent to the use of their name, address and/or likeness in any form of media without compensation in any publicity carried out by Moosehead Breweries Limited.

Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify, from this Contest and any future Contest or other promotion conducted by the Sponsor, any individual that it finds or believes to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or Contest Website; to be acting in violation of the Official Contest Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR OTHER EQUIPMENT OR TECHNOLOGY USED AS PART OF THIS CONTEST OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Cold Filtered Light Vespa

  1. Eligibility.

    This contest is open to residents of NB, NS and PE ('Contest Provinces') who (i) have reached the legal drinking age in their Province of residence by September 18, 2009, and (ii) have a valid driver's license in their Province of residence, except employees of (a) Moosehead Breweries Limited (the "Sponsor") or any of its advertising and promotional agencies (including the independent contest organization), (b) bottle redemption centers, (c) packaging suppliers, (d) governing liquor commissions or boards in the Contest Provinces or any licensees authorized by such commissions or boards or other authorized retail vendors of Sponsor's beer, and (e) members of such employees' immediate families or persons who are domiciled with such employees. In these contest rules, "immediate family" means spouse, same-sex partner, parent, sibling, and children.

    No purchase is necessary to enter or win. For a no-purchase-necessary entry, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to "Cold Filtered Light - Vespa", P.O. Box 1199, Saint John, NB, E2L 9Z9.

  2. Conditions of Entry.

    To be eligible for the Cold Filtered Light - Rip 'N Win a Vespa LX50 Contest, entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time ("AST") on December 31st, 2009 ('Contest Closing Date').

    Entrants can enter by texting the unique PIN code found inside specially marked cases of Cold Filtered Light 12-pack cans to 243377 (CHEERS) from October 1st to December 31st, 2009. Chances of winning depend on total number of entries received. Only one entry per PIN code accepted. Entrants must be legal drinking age in the Province of residence by September 30th, 2009. Standard text messaging rates apply.

    Entries must be readily legible. Entries received that are mutilated, altered, tampered with, illegible, mechanically reproduced, incomplete, inaccurate, forged, irregular in any way, contain a nickname or fictitious name, contain any typographical, printing or other errors or otherwise are not in compliance with these contest rules will be declared void by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, delayed or misdirected entries.

  3. Prize.

    One red Vespa LX50 (the "Prize") will be awarded to an eligible entrant. The winner will be selected by random draw from the entries received during the contest.

    The Prize is not transferable and must be accepted on an as-is basis with no substitution, except at the Sponsor's sole discretion. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

  4. How to Win.

    The winner of the Prize will be announced in January 2010 in Saint John, New Brunswick. The winner will be notified by telephone within four weeks of the Contest Closing Date.

    Sponsor will advise winner of the pick-up time, date and location of the Prize which will be determined by the Sponsor at its sole discretion. Sponsor is not responsible for any costs incurred by the Prize winner travelling to and from the pick-up location or for any insurance or other costs required by the Prize winner to operate the Prize. Sponsor will reimburse the winner with up to $500 towards the rental of a trailer to transport the Prize to winner's residence upon the winner submitting the rental invoice for such trailer.

    In order to win the Prize, the selected entrant will be required to sign a standard declaration and release form confirming compliance with the contest rules and acceptance of the Prize as awarded and releasing the Sponsor, the respective liquor commission in the Contest Province of residence and the independent contest organization, and any of their respective parents or affiliated corporations, subsidiaries, agents, employees, officers, directors, contractors, advertising and promotional agencies and their respective directors, officers and employees, and agents, from and against any and all liability arising out of any matter related to the contest and the acceptance and use of the Prize. The selected entrant must return the declaration and release form within 14 days of its receipt. Failure to return these documents within this time limit may result in forfeiture of the Prize and selection of an alternate entry as winner.  If a selected entrant cannot be contacted in a timely fashion, or if for any other reason the Prize cannot be awarded, another contest entry will be selected until the Prize has been awarded.

    The Sponsor is not responsible for failure for any reason whatsoever of a selected entrant to receive notification or for the Sponsor to receive a selected entrant's response.

    General.

  5. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. By entering the contest, entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and the decisions of the independent contest organization which are final and binding on the entrants in all matters relating to the contest.

  6. The Sponsor reserves the right to suspend, cancel or modify the contest at any time.

  7. By participating in the contest, entrants agree to release and indemnify the Sponsor and the independent contest organization and any of their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, agents, contractors, including advertising and promotional agencies and their respective directors, officers and employees, from any and all losses, expenses (including legal fees), damages, and claims of any kind in connection with the contest or resulting from the acceptance, possession, or use of the Prize, including without limitation, any loss, personal injury, death, property damage, or claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.

  8. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and no contest correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrant who will be notified by mail. By entering the contest, entrants consent to the use of their name, address (city and province) and/or likeness, without further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known or hereafter devised, including the Internet, in any publicity or advertising carried out by the Sponsor, unless prohibited by law.

  9. The Sponsor is the sole sponsor of this contest and assumes no responsibility for any failure of the contest website during the promotional period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email entry to be received by the Contest Closing Date on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from accessing or downloading any material with respect to the contest or on the website.

  10. By entering the contest and submitting a contest entry, entrants consent to the collection of personal information (including a participant's name, address, telephone number, gender, birth date) which will be used by the Sponsor (and its promotional and advertising agencies) for the purpose of executing this contest and to gather statistical information which is used to market its products and conduct consumer research. The personal information collected through this contest may also be used by the Sponsor (and its promotional and advertising agencies) to distribute further information to contest participants regarding its products. If you do not wish your personal information to be used for these purposes, please contact the Privacy Officer at Moosehead, at P.O. Box 1199, Saint John, NB, E2L 9Z9. Also, you may opt out from receiving deliveries of any additional information forwarded to you by following the instructions accompanying such information.

  11. The governing liquor commissions and boards of the Contest Provinces are not connected to this contest in any manner whatsoever and are not liable in any way for any matter related to this contest.

  12. To receive the name of the Prize winner, please send a postage-paid, self addressed envelope within 3 months of the Contest Closing Date, to: "Cold Filtered Light Vespa Competition", Winners List, P.O. Box 1199, Saint John, NB, E2L 9Z9.

Moosehead Gibson Licensee Contest Rules


  1. The conditions for entering the contest;

    a. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. With the purchase of a Moosehead Lager at participating locations consumers will be given a scratch and win card by their server, giving the consumer an instant opportunity to win a coaster bottle opener and a Gibson guitar by submitting the scratch and win card as a ballot.

    b. By entering the promotion, entrants consent to the use of their name, address (city and province) and/or likeness, without further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known or hereafter devised, including the Internet, in any publicity or advertising carried out by the Sponsor, Moosehead Breweries Ltd., unless prohibited by law.

    c. Employees of the following organizations are not eligible to participate in the contest: Moosehead Breweries Ltd., McAuslan/RJ Breweries, Gibson Entities.

  2. The places where the public must deposit or send the contest entry forms;

    Participating locations only.

  3. The deadline for entering the contest;

    The contest will run from January 15th 2010 until March 30th 2010.

  4. A description of the method of awarding the prizes;

    With the purchase of a Moosehead Lager at participating locations consumers will be given a scratch card by their server giving the consumer an opportunity to win stainless steel coaster/bottle opener. If the participant received a winning scratch card they will be rewarded immediately on location. The scratch card will also be used as a ballot to enter and win a Gibson guitar.

    (4.1) the number and a detailed description of the prizes offered and the value of each prize;

    • There will be approximately 400 coaster.bottle openers available to win at each participating location. Participants are only allowed to win up to four coaster bottle openers per day. Each coaster has an estimated retail value of $4. There will be one Gibson guitar available to be won by all participants across the 60 participating accounts in Quebec. The  estimated retail value of the Gibson guitar is $999.

  5. The place, date and precise time the prizewinner will be named;

    Regarding coaster/bottle openers, prize winners will named immediately upon providing their server with a winning scratch card on the same day and at the same location that they were initially given the same scratch card from their server. Regarding the Gibson guitar, all ballots will be entered into a draw and a winner will be selected on April 15th 2010.

  6. The media used to inform the winners of the prizes won;

    Prize winner will be able to determine whether or not they have won a coaster/bottle opener by scratching the foil stamp off of their scratch and win card. The consumers that see «You've Won!» under the foil stamp are responsible for telling their server to claim their prize. Scratch and win cards that say «Try Again» under the foil are not winning scratch cards. The winner of the Gibson guitar will be contacted by phone or e-mail.

  7. The place, date and deadline for claiming prizes, or where applicable, whether the prizes
    will be delivered to the winner;

    Coaster/bottle opener winners will be named immediately upon providing their server with a winning scratch card on the same day and at the same location that they were given the same scratch card from their server. Gibson guitar winners will be contacted on April 15th.  If no confirmation is given on behalf of the winner within 7 days of being contacted a new winner will be selected for the Gibson guitar. The prize will be delivered to the winner upon confirmation of delivery details.

  8. The information that the winners will be selected by a jury, where applicable;

  9. The information that as a minimum the persons specified in section 12 must be excluded in
    all cases;

  10. Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement not withstanding the foregoing, by entering the promotion entrants agree that to the extent prohibited by applicable legislation, each entrant: (a)  Moosehead Breweries Ltd, and all of their respective employees, directors, officers, agents and representatives (collectively, the «Released Parties») from and against any and all claims and liability  (including costs and expenses related thereto) in any way relating to or arising in connection with the Contest, and (b) agrees not to make any claim against any of the Released Parties, or any claim against any third party which may result in a claim against any of the Released Parties, in respect of any matter in any way relating to or arising in connection with the Contest.  Without limiting the generality of the foregoing and except to the extent prohibited by applicable legislation, each entrant agrees that the Released Parties are not responsible for: (a) lost, stolen, late, damaged, destroyed, illegible, incomplete, improperly completed Contest entries, P (b) any other difficulties of whatever nature in the conduct and administration of the Contest; and (c) any injury or damage to an entrant or any other person or their computer or other property in any way relating to or arising in connection with participating in this Contest or downloading any material related thereto.

  11. The nature of the skill-testing requirement that a winner has to satisfy in order to claim his
    prize.
